India’s Kalpataru Projects Wins UAE Gas Pipeline EPC Contract Worth Over INR 40 Billion

India’s Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) announced on 28 September 2026 that it has won an EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contract for a gas pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates. The contract is reported to be worth more than INR 4,000 crore (INR 40 billion).

KPIL received a Letter of Award (LoA), which the company classifies as a “major” order. The scope covers engineering, procurement and construction of a gas pipeline in the UAE. The client, pipeline length and diameter, route and completion date have not been disclosed. KPIL’s MD and CEO Manish Mohnot is quoted as saying the win reinforces the company’s capabilities and track record in the global oil and gas sector.

The contract value exceeds INR 40 billion, reported at roughly USD 417 million to USD 470 million depending on the outlet’s conversion. KPIL is said to have secured about INR 13.2 billion in orders in fiscal 2027 to date, with prospects worth more than INR 12 billion.

The award is an example of Indian EPC companies securing large projects in the Middle East oil and gas infrastructure market.

Gas pipelines supply feedstock and fuel to refining, petrochemical and power facilities, and in the Middle East transmission investment tends to accompany gas processing expansions. Given the size of the contract, the eventual disclosure of the client may clarify plans to expand the UAE’s gas supply network. The award also suggests a diversifying competitive landscape as Indian EPC firms win large pipeline contracts in the region.

Watch whether the client and the pipeline’s length and route are officially disclosed. The contract signing, construction start and schedule are also to be confirmed. It will also be of interest whether KPIL follows up with further orders in the UAE and the wider Middle East.
