ADNOC Gas Awards $8.2 Billion in EPC Contracts for Rich Gas Development Phases 2 and 3

ADNOC Gas, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has selected China’s Wison Engineering and Italy’s Tecnimont (part of the MAIRE group) as EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractors for Phase 2 and Phase 3 of its Rich Gas Development (RGD) program, respectively. It is reported that the combined value of the two contracts totals approximately $8.2 billion, and including Phase 1 (worth $5 billion), which was awarded in 2025, the cumulative investment in the RGD program reaches an estimated $13.2 billion.

The RGD program is a major initiative under which ADNOC is developing previously untapped rich gas fields near Habshan and Ruwais in Abu Dhabi to expand its gas processing and NGL (Natural Gas Liquids) recovery capacity, according to the report. Phase 2 involves the construction of a new gas processing train at Habshan, with Wison Engineering serving as the EPC contractor, while Phase 3 covers the expansion of the NGL processing facility at Ruwais, awarded to Tecnimont. Both packages are expected to operate in conjunction with the existing Habshan and Ruwais gas processing complexes, and once completed, the new processing train and NGL recovery units are expected to further expand ADNOC’s domestic gas processing capacity. No specific process technology or licensor names for either package were disclosed in the original reporting, so licensor information is not available.
