Doosan Fuel Cell has reportedly signed a KRW501.4 billion (about $360 million) supply agreement with HyAxiom, Doosan’s US affiliate, for phosphoric acid fuel cells (PAFC).
HyAxiom will reportedly deliver the fuel cells to US AI data centers, with the supply period running from the second half of 2026 through the first half of 2028, it is reported. On-site installation is reportedly scheduled to be completed within about a year of contract signing.
The contract is reportedly worth KRW501.4 billion, marking Doosan Fuel Cell’s first entry into the US data-center power market.
As US grid and transmission buildout struggles to keep pace with surging AI data center power demand, fuel cells are reportedly emerging as an alternative that can be deployed quickly and run reliably around the clock.
This is viewed as a case of a Korean fuel cell company expanding into the US data-center power market, which could also affect the related equipment and component supply chain.
The timing of actual installation completion and whether further orders follow are worth watching.
