DS Dansuk Establishes SAF Subsidiary ‘DS Orbion,’ Targets 300,000 Tons Annual Production in Gunsan

DS Dansuk has reportedly established ‘DS Orbion,’ a subsidiary dedicated to its Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) business. Based at a net-zero complex within the Gunsan National Industrial Complex in North Jeolla Province, DS Orbion plans to build a production system capable of producing 300,000 tons of SAF annually by 2030, it is reported.

The site for the new subsidiary spans approximately 230,000 square meters within the Gunsan National Industrial Complex, and DS Dansuk plans to pursue the SAF business through vertical integration covering the entire process from raw material sourcing and pretreatment to finished product manufacturing, it is reported. The specific SAF production process technology or licensor has not been disclosed. DS Dansuk had previously announced a related investment memorandum of understanding (MOU) in June 2025, and this subsidiary establishment is reported as a follow-up step that concretizes the business execution structure.

As carbon emission regulations for the global aviation industry tighten, demand for SAF is reportedly increasing worldwide. DS Dansuk is seen as establishing a dedicated SAF subsidiary to strengthen its execution capacity in line with this trend.

Key items to watch include the specific construction start date for DS Orbion’s facilities, and whether raw material procurement contracts are signed.
