Kuwait’s KOC Crude Export Facilities Project: HEISCO Wins $359 Million EPC Contract

Local contractor HEISCO (Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Co.) has won the storage tank EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) package for the “JLO Export Facilities & Upgrading of Existing Export Network” project ordered by state-owned Kuwait Oil Company (KOC), it is reported. The contract value is reported at KWD 111,054,797 (approximately $359 million).

The project involves upgrading Kuwait’s crude oil export infrastructure, and the package won by HEISCO is reported to cover storage tank-related construction within a CMEI (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) scope. The construction period is reported at 42 months.

The contract value is KWD 111,054,797 (approximately $359 million), with KOC as the client and HEISCO as the contractor. The construction period is confirmed at 42 months.

Kuwait continues to pursue plans to expand its crude oil production and export capacity, and this storage tank EPC contract is reportedly part of its broader strategy to upgrade export infrastructure.

As Middle East oil-producing nations continue to invest in modernizing crude export infrastructure, competition among local and international contractors for midstream EPC work such as storage tanks and pipelines continues.
